Big Sister Gabriella and Joshua
Joshua was content the entire time Ella held him. He enjoys the time he spends with his big sister already. Like two peas in a pod.
The latest update on Joshua. Last night his umbilical cord finally fell off. It was hanging on just by a little bit, so this has definitely helped him not be so irritated. Thank you, Lord.
2 days until Christmas...I know we are getting excited.
Joshua has his first well baby check on 24 Dec. We will keep you posted.
Blessings,
Sara :)

10 days old.
Josh LOVES to be burped by his daddy. He is oober content over dad's shoulder. The burps come screaming out too.
His little hands are just SO relaxed. He is so awesome, and just 10 days old..
Josh and Sara were hanging out in the room and she called me in to show me his Smile. Sure enough, she was making him smile over and over. It was quite amusing. and Sara wanted to preface the video by stating that "that is my Face, Not my BooB" Then she said "Don't put BooB on there" "Honey" "What are you doing" "Can you please stop" now she is being quiet....... that will teach her,,! haha. Have a great time watching Josh, We couldn't stop laughing..
Later.

We took josh's Foot And Hand inprint for a frame kit that Ella's Sunday School teacher gave us, They turned out Great.... We cant wait to put them in the frame and display them...
Grandma INSISTED that we get Josh a lamp. She was awesome to send the money for us to purchace the lamp here. Well mom, We finally got around to it. Here is Josh's FIRST lamp in all of it's GLORY.... Both on and off... It looks great and will be a huge help when we start keeping him in
his room. For now he is sleeping in ours since he eats so often...every 3-4 hours.
We really appreciate the lamp, mom, and we know josh LOVES IT, too.
Josh likes to sleep in some awesome poses. He always gets in a new position and sleeps O so well.

Almost 1 week old!!!
We forgot to post this one last night, He was going after my nose thinking that it was a nipple.. He latched on quite well. I now feel sympathy for Sara and her breast feeding. OUCH!!!
Maggie and Josh got to know each other today. Maggie is soo sweet. We are still a little weary about Maggie being around Josh. She is only 7 months old,,,,,, still a baby her self, so we are watching her like a hawk. Josh seems to like her. He giggled when she licked his hand. Then when she was smelling his face he smiled........ He might have just had GAS,,, not too sure. He has been great. So as I mentioned, We feel like we are definitely Blessed

5 days old
Joshua is 5 days old and settling into somewhat of a routine. I went to the doctor today to see how my body is healing. My body is on the mend and is doing just fine physically. However, what I did not realize or remember was to take my motrin. So I have been in pain that I did not need to be in. I am feeling much better now. Thank the Lord for anti-inflamatory medicine. Josh had a few moments of fussiness today. I brought him out in the backyard for a few minutes and he seemed to love being out. He has a little jaundice, so i thought being out in the sunlight would be good, too. He enjoyed all the ambient noises. We live next to a charter school and all the kids were out in the playground playing. Josh loves to here the kids play. We also have lots of birds that Josh likes to hear.
Josh started to pick his head up and look around, He was able to stay up for quite some time, however he did decide to head bunt wayne a few times.

I have been expressing milk (pumping) to give Wayne an opportunity to feed him. Tonight Josh ate 35 ml like it was going out of style. I have been pumping about 4 oz each day. I am trying to get my production up so that when I go back to work, we can still provide breast milk for Josh. So far so good.

Ella is being such a big helper. She loves being a big sister. She loves her little brother, Joshua.
She loves to hold him or help with whatever task whether it is helping out with Maggie, our dog, or taking the trash out. She is always ready to assist.
Wayne is really good at getting Josh to burp. We have noticed how strong he is getting. He holds his head up high. Such a big boy.

First Sunday at Church
Yes, Joshua is only 3 days old, but we were needing an outing, so we went to church this morning. He was an angel.
Then we came home and wanted to take pictures of Josh in a cute outfit.
Then we had a photo shoot with Joshua. Wayne posted all 95 pictures to facebook for those who want to see more of our beautiful boy.
He is so adorable. We love him so. Today was the first day for Joshua to be a little colicky. He cried for a while, then Wayne soothed him by swinging and then swaddling him up tightly.

Wayne made us a wonderful dinner tonight. Chicken alfredo...he is such a wonderful impromptu cook.
Ella and Wayne made dinner. It was awesome.
I am feeling a bit more emotional lately. Bless Wayne's heart for trying to understand my emotional states. I am a little overwhelmed with being a new mom and dealing with the pain of recovery, but I am incredibly blessed to have such a wonderful husband and great friends and family. Thanks everyone for checking in on me and just listening when I call.
I pray you all are doing well.
Until the next update...
Blessings,
Sara :)

Here is Josh
We spent 1 night in the hospital, <<<<
On the drive home, Sara started balling her eyes out.. I should not figure out what was wrong, after about 3 minutes of her not even being able to say anything, she was able to get out,,,"I am just soo Happy" I got it after that.
Thanks to all of the friends that came up to visit, and the ones that didn't, we completely understand. We were able to spend just the right amount time with him and had just enough time to introduce him to his Big Sister. She is pretty happy too.
Last night he slept a little better. he was up and down, but not nearly as much. In the morning, he took the opportunity when Sara was changing his Diaper go get her........... I know what you are thinking, you would be wrong, she was watching the fire hose, Daddy figured that out with in the first 5 minutes of his life when he sprayed me.... Nope, she was manning the hose and he shot poop all over her leg and the bed..... I really could not stop laughing.
He has been a Blessing, he will most certainly let you know when he wants or needs something, but other than that he is calm and quiet so far.
He will lay there with his Blue eyes open and just look around, make noises and hang out. on Sunday morning I am going to show him what he is going to be when he grows up. We are going to watch the Bears game.

St. Nick's Day
Today was eventful...it started when Ella woke up Wayne and me to let us know that St. Nick had put stockings under the tree. She was so excited. He brought us each a pear, golden apple, small bottle of coke, some candy and a movie for Ella: the new Night at the Museum. I made jimmy dean sausages (which did not get cooked thoroughly...oops we did not eat them), and eggs. Then we went to church. On our way there our car temperature gauge spiked, thankfully we were right near a gas station...we pulled in and Wayne was able to fill up the empty radiator with coolant. We were just a few minutes late for church. Some of my friends at church were surprised to see me there. I am definitely getting big.
Church was great. Northstar has started a new series titled "Christmas Vacation" dealing with the stress of the holidays. you can check it out if you'd like at northstarpc.org
After church we came home and watched Ella's new movie from St. Nick. After the movie I asked Ella to get me a pillow from my bed as I was now ready for a nap. What I failed to remember is that I had left a glass of water next to my bed and next to that, my brand new notebook laptop. Yes, she tried to get me a pillow and knocked the glass over which spilled onto the laptop, which was turned off thankfully. And yes, I am blogging on the notebook...it still works, thank you Jesus.
Later on in the afternoon, Ella and I made some gingerbread cookie dough. It's in the fridge now setting for us to roll and cut out. So exciting. Our first christmas cookies of the season. Maybe we will get to them tomorrow. We have picked out a total 10-15 different kinds of cookies to make this year...we'll see if Joshua will let us make them all. We will try to remember to take pictures and post them as we make them.
Oh, yes, and Grammy is here going through her boxes of stuff she has. She has been sorting through her files and boxes. Well, she and Wayne have condensed them into 8 boxes on a pallet and 3 boxes to ship with UPS. In between putting the boxes on the pallet and shrink wrapping them up, we took a break and had some hungry howies pizza. UMMM UMMM Yum. They finished everything up and ready to watch the Bears take on the Cardinals.
I hope everyone is doing well. Sorry I have not blogged in a while. I had a couple of rough days last week with headaches and even ended up in labor and delivery to keep an eye on my vitals...Joshua continues to be doing great. I was able to get a pretty good narcotics to knock me out and help me to get some sleep. Then my OB gave me a prescription for some more drugs to get rid of the headaches so I do not need to go into the hospital. I have only needed to take it once so far.
I will try to be doing better with the updates. So far we are shooting for Thursday for the c-section. But if anything happens before hand I will try to keep you all posted.
Many blessings :)
Sara

It's December 1st already!!
We are ready, Joshua, any time now...
I think he has dropped even more now.
We had another doctor's appointment today. I have gained another couple pounds...oh what's a few more at this point. I think Josh is just getting bigger and bigger.
Another appointment on Friday...we shall see what transpires between now and then.
My headaches seem to have subsided for now. Yeah...thank you Jesus.
Joshua is moving even more now.
Blessings!!

It's hard to believe that it is almost December. Josh is still hanging out. He is still pretty active for being so big. Two weeks ago the ultrasound measured him between 7.4-7.8 pounds, so we think he's definitely bigger than 8 bls now. I am doing well. I have been suffering from some pretty severe headaches, but they subside. I think my body is getting ready to deliver this little munchkin. Of course we are all excited. A little anxious and curious to meet this bundle of joy and discover his personality.
We will keep you all informed...no real consistant contractions yet.
Love you all...
Sara

Watching the Bears and the Vikings play...Wayne is hoping Jay Cutler improves his interception record against Brett Favre. So far, so good. We'll see.
Jason, Melissa, Bradon and Mason are here watching the game with us. We are blessed to have made great friends.
We have our last small group meeting tonight for this session. We are thinking about hosting again next series.
Yesterday Ella and Wayne took the tree out and decorated it while I watched. Joshua was taking up his space...and making me very uncomfortable. He is getting ready to grace the world with his presence.
We hope all is well with you. Blessings,

Today is Thanksgiving Day. We felt that since our little "Linebacker" is not here yet, we should take some Family pictures. Thankfully Sara still fit into her jersey. She made an AWESOME turkey, and now we are all tired.

Ella enjoys hanging out with Josh. She gets really giddy and laughs a lot when he moves. She is really excited for him to get here so she can be a Big Sister..
Josh was not moving, so we had to ad lib,,,,, but this is what I look like when he does move. He moves her entire belly, however he is pretty much off of space now.
Sara and I are really excited about Josh coming. I usually sit and feel her belly when I can, She moves my hand off of her belly when she sleeps, and swears that she does not. She does!
We will see if he can make it to December, 4 more days of Nov.
There is an awesome little pond across the street that was just perfect for some pictures. so we took some there.
We will see if he can make it to December, 4 more days of Nov.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
